I purchased a short hub and quick release (gen 2.5) a few months back from NRG. So far, it seems to be pretty good quality. It was sort of aggravating that there were no instructions whatsoever for brain-dead people such as myself, but I eventually figured it out. None of the parts are showing any forms of wear at all.
I'm also satisfied at how much closer the wheel sits to the column with the short hub. A normal hub and a NRG QR puts the steering wheel in your face, but with the short hub it is at an acceptable distance.
Overall for the price, I'd say NRG is a pretty good "bang for your buck". I'd definitely recommend it to others.

Do you have the QR lock as well? I'm curious to know if for safety it's even worth it.

i also have had the same short hub>QR>wheel setup for almost 3 years, and there is no wear on the component what so ever, and there is NO play between them. It's stayed tight and structured throughout all the way down to the rack n pinion :)
I have the QR lock, and i'd say it's a "better safe than sorry" deal. Cuz without it, they can throw on any other nrg qr with a wheel on there - but with the lock, they have to at least unlock it or something. (althoguh it IS driveable with vice grips) i use a clutch lock along with this, - and nobody really knows how to start my car cuz my starter harness took a shit :)

PPL always mention how a thief can just throw on another wheel and QR on the NRG hubs, but aren't the NRGs 6 point style hubs like momo and works bell hubs? Shouldn't the same thing be said about them or am I missing something? I mean wouldn't you just need a 6 point QR and wheel to be able to drive on a works bell hub or any other high dollar hub?

not sure how that works, but i know that MOST of the time my other friends try to throw on their wheel with an NRG QR, it works on my car.

Aren't Works Bell hubs not interchangeable? NRG are, but not Works Bell I believe. Could be wrong though.

^ This isn't the place to post that
I do also have the lock. I've heard a rumor that if you try to pick it, it will seize up making it impossible to remove. But I still have to call up NRG to see if this is true. From what I understand, they got an award from SEMA for it.

Interesting. I'll look into getting one of these then. I'll be needing one soon anyway.
