SO!

my ka took a dump and i had a spare from an old car, so we swapped that motor in.

it did not have a dizzy, throttle body, fuel rail, injectors, and a few other things.

So we swapped those from the other motor.

Also bypassed most of the vacuum lines.

We got it started but the best we could get the timing was 10 degrees before it hit the bracket.

the motor has NO power.

Put your car in third gear and try to drive, thats how my car is if u try and rev it in neutral.

It backfires every once in awhile while just idling, and gets worse while i drive.

Hard to tell but also think it MIGHT be backfiring through the intake a little.... especially down low.

ugh need this fixed. ASAP http://zilvia.net/f/images/smilies/sadwavey.gif

pull the valve cover off and see if the chain might have skipped a tooth.

so just make sure the link on the timing chain either darker or brighter than the others is lined up with the cam sporket right?

I don't know exactly how to check it on a KA. But on the SR, there are 3 links that are siver, instead of the darker metal. Each link lines up with a marking on the crank sprocket, or cam sprocket. Do you have the FSM for the SOHC? If you do, its under "Engine Mechanical > Timing Chain Replacement"

yeah nieko you are correct the chain will have either a darker or lighter chain link witch lines up with the dot on your cam sprocket.

no hahaha

i meant fix it if it DID jump a tooth..

hahaha im not that dumb man.

it was my dizzy that was messed up though i think.

well anyway we put the dizzy in the first time and it was doing the stuff stated above.

then i went to sacramento to visit family and my friend swapped the other dizzy for me, but he accidently put the spark plugs in the wrong order...

and thats why it kept doing itl..

fuck i fail ahahah but i noticed it when i got back hom i was like hey, this isnt right.

well anyway
