Harder than Chinese Math S13 hatch build

Ok well first off, my name's Peter and some may know me some may not.

I first got this car back in March of '08. When I got it, it had some ricer ass euro altezza whatever you call them taillights with missing plastic covers and no reverse lights. Oh yeah, the brake lights didnt work either. Everything was ghetto wired so I went ahead and re-did everything when I put on the Kouki taillights. The coilovers were blown as fuck I think and a whole other bunch of shit was wrong, but didn't really matter to me 'cuz I saw the light with this car.

I did a few events with this car. I started to sand my car down to prep it for paint as I was tired of the mustard color it had. Well that plan to paint my car went downhill after I lost my job. I stopped going to events, stopped going to meets and my car just sat. :mad: I got tired of seeing my car just sitting there so I got off my ass and went job hunting. I BARELY got hired like 2 months ago after 3 or 4 months of looking. So now I have continued on with my build of the car.

As of right now, it will be getting a new paintjob, new aero, new exhaust to compensate for the new aero, new wider wheels, 5 lug conversion all around, alignment and MAYBE paint the interior. Might save that for when I pull my motor later.

I already have the aero that I'll be running and a pair of the new wheels. 5 lug will also be coming the next few weeks. I have started sanding the shitty primer that's on there.

I'll be updating this on a daily basis as I get more and more done on this damn car.

Sweet man. I'm looking for cheap 5 lug swap. Damn. I thought I came up on one, but the s14 wasn't 5 lug. I was so anxious that an s14 was in the junkyard I swear I thought I saw 5 lugs....turned out to be base model. Anyways dope. What kinda wheels? I forgot if you mentioned that before.

Yeh man I think I scored on that 5 lug. Everything pictured was $400. And for the wheels, I haven't mentioned yet lol and I plan on just showing them once the car is done. They're nothing special whatsoever!

Shane, it looks green because Keith did that effect using a color on my shirt. And the new color is a secret that no one knows :D

UPDATE: I got only the passenger front side on today because I have to go to work in a few. Drilling out the holes on my PBM coilovers to fit the s14 spindle took most of my time today. I'll post pics when I'm out of work! Thanks for reading suckas!

Started by removing the sway bar, tie rod, and traction rod.

And Cody, my car didn't look TOO low, but it was tough for me to daily it when I had the old kit. But yes, if I wanted to lay that bitch on the frame I definitely could without a doubt. These shits get hella low. If you look at my picture test fitting the aero you can somewhat see how low my car sits right now. I plan on going lower though when I get an alignment. I want to be drifting and my sideskirts dragging hahaha

Soooo the painting process has begun...

I know it was raining earlier and probably still is right now, but I figured I couldn't do much else but to paint my widebody for now. Rest of the aero will get paint tomorrow!

So first of all decided to use a few coats of charcoal primer:

Let that settle for a bit then went ahead and shot the base coat, TEAL! I've been wanting to paint my car this color since I had my first 240 and it finally happened!

So thennnn I let that dry a bit and shot the first coat of clear with TEAL flake. Shit looks gangsterr I love how it came out :D

You can somewhat see the flake in some of the pics, but like they say "the pics don't do the paint any justice."

Well the paint was attained thanks to my gf's dad. He owns a company so I was able to get this paint custom to my liking.

I wouldn't be able to answers questions about his gun and whatnot 'cuz I'm not sure as to what he used but if you need any help just ask me and I'll help you out.

As far as sanding goes...the widebody needed some work so I refiberglassed the needed and then bondoed a TINY layer just to fill the small crack. To start I just used 80 grit to remove all the previous paint and work the bondo down. After that I went to a 220 grit to smoothen it out. You CAN use an even higher grit but I didn't because I am going to wetsand later with 1000-2000 and buff. Oh and I always wetsand no matter what. IDK it's just a preference of mine, but you can just sand normal if you'd like.

the factory honda teal color is what JDMBOOGER painted his AE86 with!!! I'm glad I saw this thread, I was thinking about painting my s13 this color.... Since I haven't seen any 240's with that color either, but I also had a teal colored car before. I try not to do repeats on color.
